With (no) tears and goodbyes, the five of us departed Singapore for New York on 6 May.
I wasn't feeling particularly excited because it was my first time overseas with friends and for such a long time so I was feeling a little lost and insecure as well.
We took a longgg time to clear customs and had a little trouble finding our hostel so it was 3am by the time we hit the sacks.
And we had to drag our luggage to the train station the next morning.
Brunch was at Applebee's and it was really good :p
Then we boarded the noon bus to New Jersey.
I recall that NJ was really really cold and Wildwood was so so foggy we were rather amazed when we arrived.
It was like...heaven! HAHAHA
I shared a room with Clarice and basically from there, our new routines rolled into place slowly.
How I chose to be a ride operator for Dante's Dungeon and how I survived up to 15 hours of work a day and how I passed the swim test and became a lifeguard, how I survived 2 weeks of training under the sun (and rain) and how I turned so dark, how my luck turned for the better at Ocean Oasis (from Raging Waters) and I started receiving many beads, how I survived on my bland cooking etc etc...
I made many friends along the way, attended parties and had meals together.
It was definitely a good experience.
And the trips in between never failed to perk me up ^^
New York City, Atlantic City, Cape May, Philadelphia, Washington, Niagara Falls...
Maybe except the trip to Woodbury cause something happened which really ruined my day ):
The 2 months flew by quickly and we were sad to leave )):
Haha we took so many photos with the lifeguards I think they were rather tired of seeing us already
And I managed to take the scary but really thrilling ride, cliff dive, before we left!
No regrets for YOLO! :)
;
Travelog II will be up soon I promise! (Since I'm so free in the office anyway haha oh did I mention that I'm a temp receptionist at Remy Martin's?)
I have decided to split the entire trip into 3 posts.
It'll be on the short trip during the work period!
And the last one will solely be on the travelling part.
Till then :)
xoxo,
