A pity the Statue of Liberty wasn't open to public yet.
- Brooklyn Bridge
- Rockefeller
- Central Park
- I cannot remember what else hahaha
One day certainly wasn't enough to cover NYC and I would love to visit it again.
Oh, and I actually had New York Cheesecake there for dinner hehehe
Cape May (16 May)
A really pretty town near Wildwood, it only took us slightly less than 30 minutes to get there by car.
The main highlights were the Victorian houses, pristine beaches, lighthouse and European street.
If only Wildwood was like that haha!
Philadelphia (11 June)
We woke up really early to catch the public NJ Transit bus at 7am.
Then we went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art (where the Rocky Steps were) as well as the Love Park.
And of course Zihui & I had to visit University of Pennsylvania where SMU was modeled on its Wharton Business School (supposedly the best business school in the world)!
It was like stepping in SMU all over again with the SRs and everything looking the same.
We popped by the bookstore and each bought a Penn shirt home!
Last stop was South Street but we were rather disappointed cause we expected it to be much much more happening.
List of places we covered in the tour:
- City Hall
- Independence Hall
- Liberty Bell
- Free Quakers Meeting House
- Christ Church Burial Grounds
- Betsy Ross House
Washington D.C. (13 June)
Washington was really rush but I'm glad we managed to cover quite a few places :)
First stop was the Capitol where we followed a tour group and got to see the Rotunda (featured in Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol)
Then we crossed over to the Library of Congress (largest library in the world!) to have a look and "breathe the air" as what Clarice would say haha
We then walked 2.6km to the White House just to see it from afar.
You actually have to book months in advance just to enter the White House and I think they're even stricter with foreigners.
Then we walked past the Washington Monument (which was under repair work too sigh why so unlucky) and Smithsonian Castle for picture taking.
Last two stops were the National Museum of Natural History and Air and Space Museum.
Washington was a really cheap place to visit, having only spent $5.50 (lunch) the entire day.
Niagara Falls (24 June)
Took an overnight bus (8 hours) and reached there at 1pm.
We couldn't check into our hotel yet so we went to the Discovery Centre and Aquarium first.
Nothing much there but since we bought the package already so we had to get our money's worth right haha.
After settling down, we went to the Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist tour.
Cave of the Winds was wild enough already but Maid of the Mist was so crazily fun!
We got to go really really close to the falls and jumped and screamed like mad on the tour boat HAHAHA
SO WET BUT SO MUCH FUN.
Went back to the falls again at night to see the lights.
Ah I would love to go back again but the Canadian side this time!
